Say NO To Grains! If you like the idea of feeding raw pet food, but prefer a gently cooked food that provides benefits that match raw, frozen or home prepared high-meat pet diets, EVO® Pet Food is the answer.
EVO is the first grain-free ancestral diet that provides the benefits of modern nutrition in a safe, convenient and cost-effective natural food. Use EVO alone or as a supplement to your raw or home cooked pet food for a complete and balanced natural feeding.
We here at Stinky Pete's have changed the diet of our personal ferrets as well as the ferrets we have up for adoption. There have been some very interesting discussions about how the grains in the foods in most pet stores for ferrets are causing some of the most common diseases in ferrets such as Insulinoma and Adrenal. Here is an article that we read that really makes sense and has been the deciding factor in our diet change.

We have changed our diet here to EVO. EVO is an all natural food that contains no grains. EVO is not sold at regular pet stores as of yet but is sold only at specialty pet stores. There is currently both EVO Ferret and EVO Cat/Kitten available which has pretty much the same ingredients in them. This food is about the same price or a little more than the regular pet store foods.

| GREAT CHANGE | | I have two Ferrets (ZUKI & TITO) I had researched about what food i should give my little ones and EVO was the most used by....i decided to buy it and mix it in with the Marshall's brand (which is what they have been eating)...well it has only been a day since i started giving it to them and i already see a change...they woke up so hipper today its ridiculous :) they are jumping around and seem so much more happier!!! im glad i tried EVO..i'll comment again in like a week to let you know how they are doing!!
| Healthy and delicious | | I have five fuzzies and they all love this food. I haven't found another food that fits their needs so well. One of my babies is a little elderly. When I got him, he was underweight with a dry, scruffy looking coat. His owner had been feeding him Meow Mix. After a few weeks, I couldn't believe the difference. His coat is shiny and thick, he's no longer bony, and he has so much more energy. The two one-year-olds are so well nourished that they're getting a bit chunky. My baby boy likes to shovel the food out of the bowl so he can eat it off the floor of the cage. The cats congregate under the cage because they love the food too. My baby girl yells at the others when they get close to the food when she's eating. This DOES make their stools a little more runny, because their bodies utilize so much of the food and there is less waste. It's worth the little extra cleaning to ensure their health. Most ferret health problems are related to diet, and I believe an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure any day.
| If I only fed ONE food... | | I give our five rescued kids a variety of foods, this way they don't feel forced into just one. However, if I only fed one food, this would be it. Our latest two adoptees came home in June. They were rescued by a dog/cat rescue group, so we didn't even bother to ask what they were being fed, just offered them the three foods we normally feed. They both went right for the Evo. They were on the thin side when they came home, but in the few months they've been with us they've filled out to the point where I have affectionately dubbed the little boy "chuncky monkey." Their coats are thick and luxurous, and they are both active little terrors. I, and my vet, would recommend this food (or the cat food in a pinch, which contains no ash) to any ferret person. It is well worth the time and effort it takes to find it!
| perfect food | | i have a adrenal girl ferret perfectly healthy but she has been bald for 3 years except her head and feet . i started feeding evo ferret for about 3 months now and she has a full coat except the stripe down her back but her tail and body full fur its unbeleivable and my other ferrets are thicker and have shiney fur. i recomend this food to all. and a tip from my vet he cringes at people who feed ferrets cat food but evo cat and evo ferret are the exact same thing same ingreidients and everything evo cat has 2 extra magnisium and one other but he said those are great for ferrets also so he says if you cant find evo ferret it great to use evo cat too same bag too. i tried both and have same results . i use evo ferret 98% of the time but somtimes its out of stock everywhere and evo cat is next in line ...compare the two and see what i mean
| I LOVE THIS FOOD!! | | look at the first 2 ingredients..Chicken and turkey..no by products or meal for those first ones..and the protein is like 50% this is a low carb food perfect in my opinion for ferrets. The best you can give them!! I mix this with a couple of other foods to give them some variety.. this is a great food and my ferrets really like it :o)
| | | | This is THE ferret food of choice | | My picky little eater loves this food dry, and in her duck soup. I hand feed her duck soup twice a day and she has dry available at all times. So happy that Ferret Depot now carries this brand, because it is now my one stop ferret shop!
| EVO FERRET FOOD!!!! | | I buy this all the time it is very good for the ferrets and also the best food out there even my vet said its really good. i give it 5 i would give it a 10 if they had the number lol
| EVO Feret Diet | | My carpet sharks love this food. I am THRILLED that you have it now...I am a die hard Ferret Depot customer. Thanks from all of us here at the Rescue. Kit Crider Kit Critters Ferrets
| Good Stuff | | My ferret enjoys EVO just as much as his Sheppard & Greene Adult Food, So I put both foods in his cage and sometimes mix the two. The smell of the EVO is fresh and inviting. One problem I ran into with this food was mold growing in the bowl when soaked, so if your using this food and soaking it for your baby kits I do suggest disposal after 48 hours of any left overs. I'm very glad Ferret Depot decided to sell this food, now I do not have to go crazy looking for it anymore.
